How to Make a Money Bowl: A Simple Prosperity Ritual That Actually Works

A step-by-step guide to creating your own money bowl spell for abundance, wealth manifestation, and financial flow

I'm writing one of my favorite chapters of my upcoming book, Radical Riches, this week - and I want you to be part of it.

This chapter is on practical magick & walks through setting up a Money Bowl: one of the simplest, most delightful, and strangely potent prosperity rituals in my toolkit. And while I can share endless examples from my own life… I want real stories from real people walking this path with me.

What Is a Money Bowl?

A money bowl is a manifestation tool and abundance ritual used to attract wealth, prosperity, and financial opportunities. Think of it as building a tiny altar to wealth, opportunity, and flow. It's a form of money magic that combines intention-setting with physical ingredients that symbolize abundance.

How to Make Your Money Bowl: Step-by-Step Instructions

There is no "one right way."

Below are the elements you can include. Pick what you have, use what feels good, follow intuitive nudges.

Ingredient 1: Choose Your Base

Use one of these as the foundation:

• Rice (most common - abundance & harvest)

• Oats or beans (prosperity + nourishment)

• Salt (stability + protection)

Some people use green-colored rice or mix rice + salt + a splash of water to "harden" it into a solid energetic base.

Ingredient 2: Add Your Money

Money bowls work best when money moves in and out of them.

Use:

• Bills (many prefer mostly bills)

• Coins (especially shiny ones)

• A $2 bill

• Money from good experiences or good tips

• Foreign currency if you want international opportunities

You can use the money in the bowl when you need it, then replenish it later. This keeps the flow alive.

Ingredient 3: Herbs + Spices for Prosperity

Choose what you love or have on hand:

• Cinnamon (a must - attracts fast money & burns blockages)

• Bay leaves (write your intention or desired $ amount on them)

• Pumpkin spice (yes, really)

• Mint / mint tea

• Clove, ginger, nutmeg

• Marigold or goldenrod

• Parsley, dill, rosemary

Ingredient 4: Add Symbols of Wealth + Attraction

Ideas:

• Gold jewelry

• Shiny beads

• A magnet or lodestone (attraction magic!)

• A tiny frog, elephant, rabbit, or lucky charm

• A statue to "guard" your bowl

• A green die (for playful luck energy!)

• Anything green, gold, luxe, or sparkly

You could even spritz your bowl with fancy perfume to add a scent-symbol of luxury.

Ingredient 5: Add Your Written Intention

This matters more than anything.

Write what you want in the present tense:

• "I attract wealth, abundance, stability, and opportunity."

• "Money flows to me easily."

• "I am financially supported and resourced."

• "I always have more than enough."

(Write something that actually makes you FEEL something in your body!!)

You can also:

• Add tarot cards (Six of Pentacles, Ace of Pentacles, The Sun, Wheel of Fortune)

• Draw a sigil for prosperity

• Place affirmations or mantras under the bowl

Ingredient 6: Crystals + Stones (Optional but Powerful)

• Pyrite

• Citrine

• Malachite

• Jade

• Green aventurine

• Peridot

• Clear quartz (to amplify all the intention)

Ingredient 7: Add Candle or Incense Energy

Use:

• A green, gold, or yellow candle

• "Money-drawing" incense

How to Activate Your Money Bowl

Before you officially place your bowl somewhere… you need to charge it.

This is where the magic actually happens!

Here's how to activate it:

1. Cleanse the items (optional but recommended)

Use whatever you already have:

• Smoke (incense, herb bundle, or a single cinnamon stick)

• Sound (a bell, a chime, even clapping)

• Breath (three intentional exhales over the bowl)

Let everything feel reset and neutral before you add your intention.

2. Place your hands over the bowl

You don't need to do anything fancy — just hover your hands above it like you're warming them by a fire.

3. Speak your intention out loud or in your mind

Say it in the present tense, like it's already true.

4. Feel the emotion of "already having it"

Imagine what you want. Imagine having it. Don't worry about how or when - just see or sense yourself on the other side of having what you want.

WHAT DOES IT FEEL LIKE?? (Notice it clearly)

Let it fill your chest, your belly, your whole field.

Try to hold for 90 seconds, but even 10–15 seconds is enough.

And imagine that energy filling your money bowl.

5. Seal it

Clap your hands 3 times & say "It is done!"

6. Place it somewhere meaningful

You can place it anywhere, but you may choose:

• An altar

• A bookshelf

• Your desk

• By the front door (to "catch" money)

• On a dresser

• In the wealth corner of your home (far left corner from the front door)

How to Keep Your Money Bowl Activated

This is where most money bowls lose their charge: stagnancy.

You want your bowl to feel alive.

Choose any or all of these to keep the energy fresh:

• Add something weekly (or every Thursday - Jupiter's day)

• Light the candle daily

• Put money in and take money out

• Refresh rice/herbs every New Moon

• Replace the candle when it burns down

• Spritz it with an abundance spray every time you notice it

• Offer gratitude every time you feed it

• Dismantle it when the intention is complete

You can even wear the jewelry from your bowl then return it - turning it into a portable charm during the day.

Remember to Notice Signs of Abundance

Cash, free groceries, bills paid by others, unexpected gifts, and opportunities - abundance isn't always just money.
